Anthony Rogers - Sculpture
Anthony Rogers is a sculptor based in Frome, Somerset, who works predominantly with wood. Training originally as an archaeologist, Anthony worked in the field for several years before undertaking art studies in Bath.
Since then he has exhibited throughout the U.K with large scale sculptures at ‘Fresh Air’, Quenington, Glos, ‘Ground Cover’ at the Devon Guild of Craftsmen and ‘Art in the Garden’ at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. He has participated in the Hojer International Wood Sculpture Symposium, Denmark, the Caerleon Sculpture Symposium, University of Wales and has taken part in ‘SculpTree’ at Westonbirt Arboretum since 2003.
Anthony has completed numerous private garden-scale commissions, including a number from trees carved in situ, such as a seven metre high sculpture from a dead standing tree on the Isle of Mull, as well as large scale sculpted seating for various public art projects in Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset.
