Beatrice Hammond - Painting
Bea Hammond is a Somerset artist who works primarily in pen and ink, pencils and oils. Her work often draws on human and animal forms, combining them with the inhabitants of the subconscious, drawing on a rich internal landscape to form dark and beautiful creatures that are neither totally real, nor imagined. Influenced by dreams, the natural world and the vast otherworlds of mythology and folklore, her creative process celebrates organic form in complex tangles of roots, hair and anatomy that is enticing in its intricacy and ambiguous in nature.
Bea studied Fine Art at the University College Falmouth, graduating in 2008. Since then she has moved back to her home in Somerset to establish herself as a practicing artist and is open to art, illustration and portrait commissions.
