Jessica Weetch - Sculpture
Jess has lived in Wiveliscombe most of her life. Since the age of 10 Jess has been interested in sculpture and created a green dragon as one of her first pieces, since then her fascination with fantasy art has grown as have the intricacy of her sculptures. Jess gets her inspiration from the natural world around her and from the stories she has read. Working predominantly in wire and clay ideas are sketched out to define the general image before a wire armature is created. Once the wire base has been established different techniques are used to apply the clay depending on the area of the sculpture being worked on. When the sculpture has dried paint is applied to colour each piece.
